It's About Time Mamaw on Etsy

Today I am going to promote a few of my baby items from my own Etsy shop and tell you how I came about my craft and how my Ety shop came about.
I started sewing on my great grandmother's Singer treadle sewing machine in the late 1950's as soon as I was big enough to reach the peddle. I own that machine now. I made Barbie clothes when the Barbie doll first came out. I starting making clothes for family members and myself around the time I was in Junior High. I took sewing in Home Economics Class. I took several classes at the Singer Store. In 1970 I got married and had my first daughter and I was making things for her as soon a I found out I was pregnant. Then I had two more girls and I kept sewing.

I went through a rough time starting in 1990 when my girls dad and I divorced after 18 yrs of marriage. I didn't sew anything for several years. I even got rid of my sewing machine. Then I married my now husband in 1992. He had two daughters and two sons. Now all our children are grown and have given my husband and I fourteen precious grandchildren.

The next few years I did sew occasionally, but not like I did when my girls were young.

The first of this year 2011 one of my daughters suggested that it was about time I start sewing again and sell the stuff I make. Hence the name of my shop, It's About Time Mamaw.

I started my shop on February 3, 2011. I had one item in my shop. Then I was gradually able to add more items. I would like to say the shop is doing well but I am guessing this was not a good year with the recession and all to start a business venture. So I joined some Etsy groups and labs to learn more about promoting my shop. Then came the advice to start a blog, facebook and twitter. My blog was started February 21, 2011. Facebook and Twitter was soon to follow. I have since joined the amazing Blogaholic Social Network.

Since I have such a passion for reading I started a book blog, It's Time To Read Mamaw on June 16, 2011. Shortly after the blog started I joined another great network for readers and writers of books, Book Blogs.

I have met some amazing people from all over the world and hope to met more. I have definitely become a real blogaholic and loving it.

I hope to bring you more tutorials, stories, guest host and me of course. So keep coming back and visit all of my blogs and social networks. You might run into my daughters and grandkids on my facebook wall they are all over the place. ;)

Grab my button! Join me on GFC! Follow me on Facebook and Twitter! Check out the facebook sidebar for the MY ETSY facebook and the It's About Time Mamaw on Etsy facebook page.

All of this was in hopes of promoting my Etsy Shop. Maybe things will get better for the shop. If not I am going to enjoy my blogging.

Thanks for making my blog such a success and keeping me entertained and informed visiting your blogs!
