A Peak Into What Is Coming

I will be making some  boys surfer/board shorts and pants.  I would love to show you a pic of the shorts.  Anticipation can be fun so you will have to wait.  I can show you the fabric I will be using.  Please watch for them to be listed in my shop this weekend.

Trying Out a New Pattern by Tiedyediva

I found a darling pattern.  What drew my attention to it was the way it tied around  the neck then extended under the arms and across the back.  The pattern was easy to follow and didn't take very long to make.  I always study the patterns I am going to use. I go over them two or three times before I actually use it.

This dress is made with a Tiedyediva pattern.  She offers a large selection of PDF patterns.  http://www.teidyediva.etsy.com/    www.facebook.com/tiedyedivapatterns

So I made one in size 4 out of some of my stash of fabric.  I will be adding this to my Etsy shop  www.etsy.com/shop/itsabouttimemamaw

Used Books Like New!

Check out the books in my book list and if you are interested in purchasing any of them let me know. Like new. Most are hardcover and some large print.  Some series.

Working on the Pop Over Top

This is the cutest little top.  I changed it up a bit by gathering the skirt instead of pleats and added ribbon ties on the sides instead of buttons and I put the skirt on top of the bodice.   I still need to do the button holes and add the buttons to the straps. I can't wait to finish the bloomers.  I should have taken some pics while I was sewing but I didn't have anyone to take the pic.   It is late and I am calling it    a day.  Be back at the sewing tomorrow.  God Bless!

Pop Over Top and Bloomers

Today I am starting on a cut baby top and bloomers by MAD QUILTER.  I am going to give you her link to this tutorial and pattern templates.  Here is the one for the bloomers http://madquilter.blogspot.com/2010/04/knotted-bow-bloomers.html

I am going to add a few pics as I do the project.  I am using fat quarters for the whole outfit.  All of the fabric is from Michael Miller collection.  The top bodice is Pink Dumb Dot Brown on Pink fabric and the skirt of the top is Mini Cupcake Tea Party Pink.  The bloomers will be Tea Party Dessert Tray Chocolate Brown on one side and Tea Party Dessert Tray Pink Party Petal. There will be a little bow on the bloomers and it will be Cocoa Dumb Dot Pink on Brown.  I purchased all of the fabric from http://www.etsy.com/shop/ThreeRiversFabric.

Request to You That Visit My Blog

I would love to have you leave a comment even if it is only " I stopped by".
I know I have people visiting the site but I still feel as if I am talking to myself.
I for one know that isn't healthy. Ha! Ha!
So come on I dare you to say Hello to me.  Tell me if I am boring what I should do to make this blog a little more to your liking.  But let's please keep it clean I have sensitive ears.  But it is hard to hurt my feelings because God causes me to love everyone.  If I could tolerate my two ex-son-inlaws I can handle just about anything.  Hope to hear from all of you soon!

God Bless

Blogger Review - CELEBRATE THE BOY!

My daughter Laura asked me to make some clothes for my grandson Brady.  No problem.  I have an etsy shop so I first searched etsy.  There was a small selection of patterns available.  Plenty of cute clothes for sale but not many patterns.  I then did a yahoo search, more of the same.  I was very shocked.  I raised girls and made their clothes until handmade clothes were no longer cool for them.
Well I have found a blogger that has started a movement to celebrate boys.
It is amazing.  So many people have sent in pictures that are posted on flickr with wonderful cute ideas and clothes for boys.  Kudos to you Rae you have done a great thing for our little boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More Sewing Today

Today I made the cutest twirly pants.  They look like some of the pants I wore back in the 60's.  I can't believe they are coming back for the kids.  Tomorrow I will make a top to match the pants.  This is a pattern from Pink Poodle Bows on Etsy
